What if your niche isn’t the point?
I’ve been thinking about this lately:
What happens when you outgrow your niche?
Not in a dramatic “burn it all down” kind of way.
More like…
📣 You’ve said the thing.
🤪 You’ve said it 37 different ways.
😴 And now you’re just tired.
But the pressure to “stick with what works” creeps in.
You don’t want to confuse people.
You don’t want to start from zero.
You don’t want to lose the momentum you fought for.
And so you keep showing up.
But it starts to feel hollow.
Resentful, even.
Here’s the truth I’ve come around to:
Most people think their niche is the point.
But it’s actually their perspective that people show up for.
Your audience came for the way you see things.
Your lens. Your patterns. Your curiosity.
That’s the thread that holds it all together. Even when the topics evolve.
So if you’re feeling stuck, it might not be time for a rebrand.
It might just be time to reconnect with what feels alive again.
The niche isn’t the point.
You are.
Keep creating,
Dylan
P.S. In today's podcast episode, I cover this exact topic (and use my love for Godzilla, the Dodgers, and hiking as an example), here's where you can listen if you're interested.
