The trick to staying consistent without forcing it

Even after recording 1,400+ (I’ve lost count) videos and podcasts, some days, I sit down to record and…nothing.

No spark.

No energy.

I start second-guessing everything.

Old me would’ve pushed through.

Force a take.

Burn 3 hours for 30 seconds of content that I wasn’t thrilled with.

But lately, I’ve been working differently.

Instead of fighting my flow, I shift with it.

If the energy’s not there to perform, I move into prep mode.

Outline a new idea. Review past clips.

Do something that sets future me up to crush it.

Showing up to “perform” doesn’t always look the same each time.

Sometimes it means prepping, researching, organizing.

It’s all momentum, just wearing different clothes.

The biggest misunderstanding I see with creators is this:
They think consistency means pushing themselves to produce the same way all the time.

But sustainable consistency is knowing how to show up differently depending on the day.

If you’ve been feeling blocked, maybe try changing roles instead of changing goals.

Because not every day is a camera day.

But every day can move you forward.

Keep creating,
Dylan

PS. I went deeper into this idea on today’s podcast, especially how I shift gears on off days without losing momentum. Might be a good listen if you’ve been feeling stuck lately.
