Quick Update: Safe from the fires
What an eventful past 7 days.
Grateful to report that my family is safe from the fires and our house is ok.
Unfortunately, we have a couple friends who weren't as lucky and lost their house.
At (almost exactly) this time last week, we lost power.
Then a few hours later, the Eaton fire started a few miles from us.
The only "content" I got of the fire was this pic I took as we evacuated:
There's been a lot of devastation and there's still a long ways to go for so many. But I've never seen a community rally together like this before.
Many donation centers and volunteer opportunities are at capacity.
It's incredibly sad, and while the media might highlight certain aspects of the events, it cannot be overstated that people are looking out for each other. There's hope.
