If your ideas feel boring (read this)

Something fascinating happened during one of Mr. Beast's recent podcast interviews...

He noticed something peculiar after hiring people to help generate video ideas.

After a few months, patterns emerged that were almost comical: The basketball fanatic on his team? Nearly every idea would start to relate to basketball. The gamer? All roads led back to incorporating gaming. The personal finance connoisseur? Everything was about money.

He was noticing how whatever content was being consumed started to become the ingredients for what would be created.

This explains why most creators end up making the same type of content over and over... because they're consuming the same type of content over and over.

His advice?

Have an expansive content diet.

The most creative ideas often come from connecting dots between completely unrelated fields. But you can't connect dots you don't have.

Your homework this week (there will be a test next Wednesday):

Spend 30 minutes exploring videos, content, and communities from a field you know nothing about. You might just find your next breakthrough hiding there. ;)
