Are your hooks helping or hurting?
How about that World Series game last night?
The anticipation and hope as a Dodgers fan 😮💨
I can’t wait to watch game 5 and see what happens next!
Anyways…
There’s a lot of talk about hooks on social media.
Experts say the first seconds of your video should catch your audience’s attention and draw them in. But what nobody talks about is the people who aren’t drawn in, but still see your hook.
These people still had a brief interaction with your content.
For example, you create a video about the stock market and open with, “Is the stock market plunging even further?”
If someone sees that but doesn’t watch (which, let’s be real, is most people), they’re still scrolling away with that interaction in mind.
My suggestion: consider the emotions you’re using in your hooks.
If you want people to have a positive, uplifting association with you, make sure your hooks reflect that.
